Goshen's Lincoln Highway

Welcome to Goshen's Lincoln Highway
There has always been a Lincoln Highway in my hometown of Goshen, Indiana. That is, at least as long as I have lived there. Goshen has changed quite a bit since I was born in 1959. But it's still a pretty good place to live. There are alot of interesting things for visitors to see and do here as well. That's why I made this site.

Over the last several years interest in the historic Lincoln Highway has been growing. For those who choose to travel the Lincoln Highway through Goshen, this site is meant to provide:

*Directions for following the original route through town.
*A directory of businesses and landmarks along the route that date from the time of the Lincoln Highway.
*A directory of modern businesses and landmarks along the route that might be of interest.
*Businesses and landmarks near the route that might be of interest.

How to Use This Site
This site is laid out as a "blog". That means that the newest posts appear at the top of the first or "main" page. That doesn't mean that they're the most important posts, that just means that they are the most recent.

Since you are reading this post, that means that you found the box in the upper right-hand corner that said "Start Here", and clicked the link to find this article.

Just below that box, also in the right-hand column, there is a box that says "Explore Goshen". The "Explore Goshen" box contains a list of every article about locations within Goshen that the site contains. Simply look down the list, find a topic that strikes your fancy, and click on it. That article will then appear in the space to the left. When you are finished with that subject you can either pick another subject from the "Explore Goshen" box, or click on the word "home" at the bottom of the page to return to the main page.

Beneath the "Explore Goshen" box there is one marked "Side Trips". These are places near Goshen that Lincoln Highway enthusiasts will (hopefully) find interesting. For something to qualify to be listed as a side trip on this site it has to be within an hour's driving time or so from Goshen.

Just beneath "Side Trips" there is a "What's New?" box. Whenever I add something new or update something on the site I'll note it here. Since this site is laid out in blog format a "What's New?" list may seem redundant at first, since new posts are always at the top. But I will be updating older posts on a regular basis. So check the "What's New?" box whenever you visit the site to see if any of the older posts have been updated or anything else has changed.

Other sections in the column on the right contain links to some of my favorite places in Goshen, useful Goshen links, and links to sites about the Lincoln Highway.

Have fun. Enjoy your visit to Goshen.

This site is not going to be created overnight. It will be a work in progress for some time to come. So check back often.

It would be great to see some information about the old bag factory, I am not sure just how close it is to the Lincoln Highway but it can't be far off.
